HYPE WORTHY | Products You Don't Hear Nearly Enough About

The beauty industry is a crazy place filled with product placements, sponsored posts and hyped up products that you just need to have. Occasionally though a product comes along that just blows my socks off, and I'm always a little surprised when others haven't raved about my new found marvel. Here's a look at some products that I adore, but never hear much about...

[1] Clarins Instant Light Complexion Perfector in 01 Rose has been raved about by me here on the blog several times. It's a gorgeous pearly cream that can be mixed with your foundation, BB cream etc or worn on its own, or worn underneath your base. I love to mix it with fuller coverage foundations, like Illamasqua Skin Base to give them a bit of luminosity minus the shimmer. Clarins makes this product in 3 shades making it easy for all skin tones to find a match.

[2] Dior Mono Fusion Shadows were something I discovered shortly after they were launched and instantly fell in love. The shade Chimere is my favourite - a stunning gold laced pink that truly brightens the eyes. The formula is a bouncy yet firm textured cream (think Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush) and once you apply them they last all day, minus the sparkle fallout. My only gripe is that I wish there were more shades to choose from!

[3] Bare Minerals Ready Shadows (shown is The Dream Sequence) are another product that I just don't see get the love they deserve. These powder shadows are some of the creamiest richly pigmented shadows I've ever used. The come in duos and quads, and again I wish there were more shades - or perhaps released in singles!

[4] MAC Eyeshadow in Blanc Type is an absolute staple for me, and yet I never hear about it much. Unlike its fellow creamy bone sister Brule - Blanc Type has amazing pigmentation. Pale ivory shadows often apply chalky, patchy and poor in colour payoff, but not this one. It goes on true to pan shade, making it the perfect brow bone and inner corner highlight, or all over the lid wash. I'll never be without it.

[5] I've raved about Illamasqua Hydra Veil before here. Its a mix between a skincare product and a makeup primer and I can honestly say my makeup truly lasts longer when I use this. Its a balancing gelly formula that seems counter intuitive for my dry skin but it really does hydrate without making my makeup separate or go flaky. Its on my "worth every penny" product list for certain.

[6] When it comes to lip balms I've tried them all folks. And while I love my Bite Agave for night time, during the day I need something that will keep my lips plump, hydrated and peel free, and the Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm in Mint is just that. It sports an SPF25 which is ideal for me (ever burn your lips? It's all kinds of pain) and it doesn't leave an overly shiny finish on the lips, because it is actually marketed as a mens skincare item. It comes in a bunch of "flavours" but my lips love the tingle that Mint leaves!

Which favourite products of yours don't get the hype they deserve?
