Regardless of the fact that I was a teenager of the 90's, I actually never did much shaping (re: over tweezing) to my brows, despite what everyone seems to suggest to me. Sorry folks, my thin sparse brows never went through a lush Cara Delevigne phase, they've just always been this lean.
Bring in the brow routine, my go to products for fine browed girls like myself.
If you are like me and are a cool toned brunette you know the struggle is real to find a decent brow pencil/powder/anything that isn't too warm. When it comes to powders, at any given time I reach for my trusty MAC Eyeshadows quad I've put together {top left-right are Vanilla for brow bone highlight, Omega, Concrete and Brun} I'll choose shades depending on my eye look and whether it garners a stronger brow or more muted brow, and I only use my trusty MAC 266 brush for perfect precision. For the odd sparse spot that really needs that hair like look, I'll pop a few flicks of my Maybelline Define-A-Brow in Dark Brown, which has a super tiny little nib, much like the highly praised Anastasia Brow Wiz, but about a third the price.
For a final groom and to get my newly filled brows some texture, I'll sweep over a little of Maybelline's Brow Drama in Dark Brown, a tinted brow gel that dries to a flat finish unlike most clear brow gels that leave a wet look, or worse, the dreaded brow dandruff. Ick.
Here's a little brow breakdown for you on how I do mine daily:
[1] My naked brow, note the slight bald spot at the arch.
[2] I mixed Omega and Brun or Concrete and drew a line at the underneath of my brow, starting about 1/4 inch in from the inner brow.
[3] I then use whatever product is left on the brush and blend up from the base line, blending the colour into the brow hairs. I'll pick up more product if needed, and take just Omega into the inner corner of the brow to blend. This gives nice clean definition to the brow bone.
[4] Any sparse spots are filled in with my Maybelline pencil, as well as using it to clean up any edges that don't look as clean. A final light sweep of Maybelline Brow Drama sets everything in place and gives the hairs a touch of texture to look dimensional and real.
I know it seems like a lot, in text it is, but in reality it takes me a couple minutes total, if that. I've got it down to an art that works for me and lasts all day until I take them off!
