Seeing as we are already in the first week of July, I thought it was about time I did a little recap about all the goodies I am loving this month! I have found myself reaching for these products over and over this month, and have also discovered some new skincare that has made a world of difference, especially after that nasty allergic reaction I mentioned here.
I've found myself seriously embracing peaches this summer, something about the addition of a little bit of tan colour in my skin makes peach really pop. Tarte's Blissful Amazonian Clay Blush gives a gorgeous peachy coral flush and lasts all day long and the Clarins Instand Lip Perfecter in 05 is a gorgeous milky pinked up peach that goes on smooth as a balm, with a glossy finish. Seriously, if you haven't tried one of these, run, don't walk to go get one!
Speaking of lips - if you have uber dry peeling lips like me ( yeah I know, gross) then you are always on the hunt for the perfect balm. Try the Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm - its usually found in the mens section of Sephora and seriously amazing, read more about it here.
Finally in the peach category ( hey, when I do something I go all out!) Benefit's Creaseless Cream Shadow in RSVP (mine is still in the old packaging) makes the perfect shimmering peachy base that can then be smoked out with some brown or taupe, or worn on its own for a simple daytime look. You know I love Urban Decay's 24/7 liners ( especially Perversion) but this month I have been reaching for Demolition - a chocolate hue in a matte finish to pair with it.
Finally in the cosmetic category, I have been all about the tan this summer, which has had me reaching back into my bronzer stash and using the Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base again. This product seems to reside in the back of the drawer most months of the year, but when I get a touch of natural colour from the sun ( or, more likely self tanner!) I find myself loving the way this looks on my skin.
This last month I also had several skin care favourites. Especially after my hideous allergic reaction to St. Tropez Tanning Mousse, I felt like my skin was beyond repair for about a week or so. Thanks to Caroline Hirons ( seriously, bookmark her blog people!) I went out and bought the Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Toner, Indeed Labs Hydraluron & Eysilix. I kid you not, OVERNIGHT my skin was almost totally healed using these new additions plus my regular moisturizer ( Vichy Nutrilogie 2). When does that ever happen that you get results overnight folks? Almost never. More on my skin care routine to come in a separate blog post....
What are your favourites for the month of June? What are you loving for July already? Have you tried any of the products I mentioned?
