WEEKEND EDITION #2 | Sunday Stars

Since I work for myself, standard weekends aren't really a thing - no day is free from a little work for me (hey, no rest for the wicked right?) But there are a few weekend traditions in the beauty arena that I have picked up and made habit of as of late.

Now that my younger years of fulling weekends with boozy concoctions and much too much spent on nights out are pretty much behind me, I have taken to pampering myself a bit on Saturday nights. I will start out with a good scrubbing in the shower with my current favourite, Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream. I am seriously loving this, and I've written about it more in this post.  I'll then attempt to bronze up my pasty limbs with some self tanner; Currently I am trying out the Xen-Tan Dark Lotion Absolute Luxe, another recommendation from the lovely Anna of ViviannaDoesMakeup.

Sunday's mean back in the shower to rinse away the self tanner colour guide, and give my hair a good clarifying wash, my favourite shampoo for this being the Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo. It's washes away all the product buildup that may have stuck around through the week and leaves my hair feeling super soft, clean and shiny! I'll follow up my Sunday shampoo with an extra pump of my Moroccan Oil for Light or Fine Hair. I've used and sworn by this product for years and use it after every shampoo, but I like to treat my hair to a little extra on Sunday when I have used a clarifying shampoo, which can be a bit drying.

I love the Clarins Liquid Bronzer for Face, and use it throughout the week, but I find myself massaging a bit more in on the weekends up the glow a bit and match my newly "Xen Tanned" body! In the evening I'll sit down with my favourite all time beauty mag Allure, then smother on the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask, a product that has single handedly banished my pesky dry patches and smells like summery fruity - bonus!

Do you have a weekend routine? Are there certain products you wait until the weekend to use?
