When I talk to my makeup loving friends one of the first gripes of theirs seems to be creasing eyeshadow. Over the years I have tried my hand at many eyeshadow primers and bases, and NARS Pro-Prime has officially trumped them all.
While my skin tends to be very dry, my eyelids don't seem to follow suit and most eyeshadows fade on me, as well as most cream shadows creasing like a mo-fo. For me, it is a huge pet peeve to spend the time doing my eyes up all gorgeous, only to catch a glimpse in the mirror a few hours later and notice all the oomph is gone, and the pigment has migrated.
After hearing about NARS eyeshadow primer back when it was released, I really doubted the hype around it. Especially after trying other colourless bases which seemed to make little difference (ahem, sorry Urban Decay, talking to you!). Back when Sephora did their fall VIB sale I figured I would give it a go, especially with the discounted price, and honestly - I haven't looked back since.
At $29 CND it is a few dollars more than other similar products offered on the market, but the NARS is by far the best I have tried. Even my uber creamy Bare Minerals pressed shadows, which I adore but seem to crease more than the average powder shadow, stay put all day long with this stuff! I have even taken to putting it on under other base like products, like MAC's Paintpots, and Benefit's Creaseless Creams for all day, true to first application, colour. The staying power this stuff gives my look is worth every penny!
The product itself looks like a milky white right out the package, but blends in clear instantly making this the perfect starting point and excellent under brow products as well! The doe foot applicator makes it super easy application - just pat a bit on and blend in with a finger or a brush from lash line to brows. No doubt, this has become a staple in my everyday routine; I am on my second tube!
