Cosmetic companies have been coming out with spritzable products for a while now, and they all promise to be life changing, but some are definitely better geared towards specific uses (for example, not a single one I own does all the jobs it claims, they each serve their own purpose) After recently falling back in love sprays, I decided to pull out five sprayable products out of my stash and break them down by use and what they truly work best for.
The Cruelty/oil/Paraben Free High End Choice: Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray (shown in the old packaging) sets your makeup like hairspray sets your hair. It keeps my makeup on all night, but is probably a better choice for normal/combo/oily skinner as I do find it makes my dry dehydrated skin feel a little tight after spraying.
The Refreshing Toner That Smells Amazing: Heritage Store Rosewater Spray smells like roses from my Grandfathers garden (it should the only two ingredients are Vor-mag water and Rosa Damascena Oil). Rosewater is known to have several amazing qualities: balancing, revitalizing and toning the skin as well as having natural anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and antiseptic properties which makes it a great choice for skin that is troubled as well. I love this after my cleanser before my serum, or throughout the day as a refresher.
The Pigment Powerhouse: Ahh good ole Mac Fix+, possibly the first 'setting spray' product I can remember trying out. Mac is known to sell this as a do-it-all product, but I find it's true calling is as a makeup enhancer. you know that pigment that just goes on kinda dull dry? Spray your brush with Fix+ and then marvel at how amazing the pigment is. Want a shadow to appear more metallic? Foiled? Turn powder into a denser liner? Fix+ my friends.
The Oil/Silicone/Alcohol Free Choice: Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water does what it says on the box - it primes my face for makeup and keeps it looking fresh as a daisy all day. No joke. This is sold to be used as both a primer and as a setting spray too (or if you over powder and need to bring things down a notch). Read a full review here.
The Wallet Friendly Option: L'Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray fully delivers on lasting time for my makeup, and it has one of the finests mists of the whole lot. It also doesn't have tight hairspray light feel to it, which is why it is my choice over the Urban Decay spray. I've fully reviewed it here.
What spray products do you love? Have you tried any of the ones I mentioned today?
