January Beauty Favourites 2015 girllovesgloss.com mac face and body, smashbox primer water, tarte tartelette palette, make up for ever aqua cream ,marc jacobs brownout

The first month of 2015 is done and I had five distinct beauty favourites I found myself reaching for over and over this past month. There are some fun new products, an old love, and some new to me shades of previously loved products.

Mac Face & Body Foundation is something I've both loathed and loved in the past. Once I figured out how to apply it properly (seriously don't even try with a flat paddle foundation brush, this stuff needs to be buffed or warmed onto the skin with hands) After the holidays I was really craving a lightweight buildable base that let me skin breathe a bit and this really hit the spot. No doubt why this is forever a makeup artists kit nessesity.

The Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water is a new product, and one I had some hesitations about (seriously, primer water?) but as I mentioned in my recent review here, I am loving this. It sprays on super fine and soft pre base and truly does keep my makeup looking smoother and fresher longer. It also works amazingly well at blurring if you have over powdered.

Another new product that was raved about here, the Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette, it full of buttery smooth matte shades that blend like a dream. Something about this formula is unlike Tartes other eyeshadows and really makes them feel luxe. I think wouldn't be surprised if I've reached for this palette almost every day last month!

You all know I loved it in the shade Ro(cocoa) but now I am loving my Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Brown(out) - a bronzier golden chocolate. I recently talked about it this post, about how I got a mini (pictured) and then went out and bought the full size the next day. That's how you know its good!

Finally another new shade of a long time loved product, the Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream in #13 - a pale golden beige. I've mentioned #16 many many times, but this one is more neutral, and a wash of this, some definition in the crease and a swipe of winged liner and I feel 100% put together. Easy peasy and it truly is crease free and waterproof!
