After my lovely amazing friend bought me some ColourPop goodies earlier this month for my birthday, I knew it was only a matter of time before I placed my own order! I reeled it in and kept it small (oh, the restraint I showed!) but the bits I picked up we're just too pretty not to show off to you all. Prepare for swatch porn...
ColourPop had a promotion on to celebrate their birthday, which was all too convenient because I was shopping to celebrate my birthday! With purchases you got an aptly named 'Birthday Girl' shadow which is a gorgeous metallic champagne with gold and silver sparkle. It's truly stunning and reflects the light beautifully!
The shades I chose for myself were the rosy beige 'Amaze', golden laced coral 'Shark Attack' and chocolate shimmer 'Mooning'. All three of them are what I've come to expect from Colourpop: long lasting creamy pigment that swipes on easy with a finger and blends out beautifully with a brush.
I also tried out another blush in 'Trickery' which was described as a pale peach, though I would say it leans pink. It was classed as satin, but I can say there is no sheen or shimmer on my skin and finishes demi matte on my cheeks. I love to buff this on with my Real Techniques Stipple Brush for an airbrushed blush effect.
As with all the ColourPop potted cosmetics, these are a cream/powder hybrid that has a sponge like mousse texture to them that is hard to compare to anything else. At $5/shadow and $8/blush I'd say just got buy a few yourself so you can get a feel for them yourself. The shade range is fantastic and the personalized handwritten note I received in my insanely well packaged order was the nicest touch!
PS. Word on the street is the ColourPop is releasing liquid lipsticks soon. Looks like I might have to haul again...
