Good grief it's March, and that means another handful of favourite makeup and beauty bits for the month of February to share with you all. It's a nice mixed bag of new product launches, repeat favourites, and new to me products this month, so lets dive in...
First and most familiar is the Tarte Tartelette Palette, which made its debut in last month's favourites and has continued to be what I reach for most days. An entire palette of buttery matte shades with a great range of dark medium and light, cool and warm tones. What else can you ask for?
My other makeup favourites had a common theme this past month: long wearing. Let's start with the powder I've been using to keep my foundation from melting away - the Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Setting Powder. I can now fully understand why this is a cult classic backstage; It sets foundation without looking powdery and chalky, doesn't leave a white cast and somehow still keeps luminosity where you want it, and mattified where you don't.
In terms of eyes, they finally released a shade that matches me perfectly in the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade and it truly is glorious if you know how to use it. Less is more, light hand and precise brush (like the Anastasia #12) makes it look like you were born that way. My shade is Ash Brown.
I also blogged this month about the black eyeliner I've been waiting for: long lasting, waterproof, super matte and black. That came in the form of the new launch of Tarte's Tartiest Clay Liner which and ingenious little dish at the top of a squeeze tube (no more dried out pots!) that allows you to get the product evenly on your brush. Even the brush it comes with is awesome.
When it comes to finishing it all off and sealing the deal on keeping my makeup fresh the longest, the L'Oreal Makeup Extender Spray, which I raved about here and here is winning for me. I am loving this for setting my makeup and keeping it from feeling like I sprayed hairspray on my face and its about to crackle like the desert.
Finally, a nail colour I've been wearing all month and possibly channeling Spring with is Urban Outfitters Opal - a gorgeous milky mint colour that just seems to go with everything. It's not a garish pastel, but rather a really neutral mint, if that makes a lick of sense!
What were your favourite products this month? Did you tried anything new or rediscover something old?
