I recently posted on my Instagram that I thoroughly loved organizing my Mac eyeshadow palettes ( I know, super geek right here) and I got some questions about some of my favourite Mac eyeshadows. I should preface this post by saying that my mac shadow collection is pretty massive... embarrassingly so.. but I tried to pick shadows that I really feel the brand does best.
Blanc Type - The ultimate matte bone shade. This is the most pigmented creamy pale shade I've come across, and I've repurchased it many times to prove the point. Any brand can do a pale cream shade, but the pigmentation usually lacks in lighter shadows, or they look chalky, this one never does.
Kid - a perfect neutral creamy brown crease/transition shade. Kid isn't cool toned, but isn't terribly warm that it errs on the side of orange. When in doubt of a crease shade, I inevitably reach for Kid.
Handwritten - A gorgeous velvety matte chocolate brown. This shade is super pigmented, and brings out the green in my eyes like no other.
Digit - One of my first eyeshadows loves. This is a pale soft lilac purple that makes the awesome pair shade for any other plum or purple. Something about this shade always gets me compliments, and even though I don't find myself reaching for cool shades as much as I did when I was younger (this was seriously my jam for years) I don't want to be without this shade.
Typographic - a rich pigmented near black. Forget the patchy finish of Carbon, Typographic is the shade you want if you are looking for a deep dark black. It works as an awesome liner, and makes a amazing smokey.
Star Violet - This one is really unique. Its a warm rosy golden shade that pulls more plummy in one like and more copper gold in other lights. I've yet to find a shade in any other brand that has this finish and it looks amazing on all eye colours.
Ricepaper - This really looks a bit of a nothing shade, but it is really an underdog. Think a pale beige gold that has a subtle pearl and brightens up eyes minus a frosty finish.
Expensive Pink - A possibly scary looking shade in the pan, but this gorgeous corally gold rose gold shade looks amazing on the eyes.
Coppering - Another borderline scary shade, this one is bold copper that has amazing pigment. I love to pair this with Ricepaper or on the lid and buffed out with Kid in the crease. Its a statement, but one that always gets the "wow your eyes look amazing!"
What are your favourite Mac eyeshadows? Have you tried any of the ones mentioned?
