LUCKY STAR | DiorSkin Star Foundation Shines Bright

DiorSkin Star Foundation girllovesgloss.com

I really struggle finding foundations that fit my skin tone, type and desired finish. Many are too matte, or on the other side of the scale so dewy they slide around all day. Or when I do find a finish I love, the shade range is rubbish (Sorry Guerlain Lingerie de Peau, I am talking to you!)
So imagine my surprise when I got a sample on a whim that checked all the boxes? This star shines bright folks...

DiorSkin Star Foundation claims to be "Spectacular brightening weightless perfection" and I am going to go out on a limb here and say I wholeheartedly agree! It's a slightly thick liquid texture that blends in seamlessly with a good solid medium but buildable coverage and settles into the skin like you're wearing nothing at all. In fact I said to a friend the other day "I swear it looks better and better as the days goes on!" - when does that ever happen? Even minus primer I get all day wear out of this bad boy. It doesn't oxidize, it doesn't pill up or settle into lines, it doesn't transfer and it doesn't look like I'm a disco ball yet I still glow. I don't know how Dior did it, but they did.

I think Dior has really come out with a winner with this one. I got a sample and in the same week was on the hunt to buy me a bottle. It has an SPF of 30, so beware when flash photography is present, but for everyday that is a SPF I really appreciate. The bottle itself is no surprise gorgeous - glass (travellers may opt out on this) and a nicely controlled pump.

I bought the shade 020 (though may also pick up 010 to mix into it in the depths of Winter) for $50 CND and my preferred method of application is my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to buff it in.

Oh, and ladies? It's husband approved. I asked mine the other day what he thought of my look de jour and he said "I like days like this when you don't wear much makeup". Right..... not much makeup...... thank you Dior....

Have you tried the DiorSkin Star Foundation yet? Which foundation is knocking your socks off these days?
