It should be no surprise to readers of GLG that I am a fan of Clarins. Their Instant Light Lip range is holy grail status for me, and I adore the Complexion Illuminating Base. So when Clarins Canada asked me to participate in their Blogger Advent Calendar, I jumped at the chance to rave even more. The Blogger Advent Calendar is featuring different bloggers throughout the month of December focusing on their favourite Clarins product, and my must-have-never-want-to-be-without-product is hands down the Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner. Keep reading to find out why this has a permanent home in my stash.
It all started several years ago when I had a nasty allergic reaction that left my face feeling like sandpaper and itchy like a poison oak rash. I had stumbled upon Caroline Hirons blog and she had recently reviewed the Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner as one of her favourite products, so I went to the store and bought it that day. Not only did it take care of the itch overnight, but within two days, my sandpaper skin was back to it's normal smooth self - if not better.
As someone who has suffered from dry, flaky, irritable skin for years in the past, I thought I'd tried every cream, lotion and potion. Who knew it was adding an exfoliating toner into the mix that would solve my problem? A swipe on a cotton pad over the face post-cleanse has banished the flakies for years now, I'd find it hard to find a blackhead on my nose, and my skin has never been smoother. Not to mention how much better my serum/oil/night cream absorbs since using this - I feel like I am getting more out of my products than I did before. Can you feel my love for this product yet folks?
I've tried many acid/exfoliating toners since discovering this, but always return to this one. It's gentle enough that I can use it every night if I want to, and it has a permanent home on my vanity. I've recommended it countless times and have repurchased it many more. It's love people. Real, true love.
