I wouldn't have named this blog Girl Loves Gloss if I didn't in fact, love me a little gloss every now and then. When the release for the new Dior Addict Ultra-Glosses made it's way to my desk I was instantly excited to give them a try. Claiming to be a hydrating, plumping and barely-there in texture gloss hybrid, these definitely had some big claims - but are they the ultimate lip gloss?
When it comes to packaging, Dior know hows to do it luxe; The Addict Ultra Glosses are housed in clear, square tubes with 'Dior' embossed in the sides with silver accents. You can tell when I brand wants their product to be known from across the room, and Dior definitely has given these an iconic look. The wand itself is a brush applicator, which is not normally my favourite (I prefer the application of a doe foot personally) but it is soft and has good give to it, leaving a smooth application with no streaks behind.
The formula of the Dior Addict Ultra Glosses contains a core full of hyaluronic acid which retain moisture in the lips to keep that supple, plump look and I can attest that these glosses are incredibly comfortable to wear. They have a wonderful balmy feel to them, regardless of finish (some are quite sparkly yet feel totally smooth on the lips) and leaves my looks like insanely lush and glossy, even if I had dry lips before application! Dior refers to the formula as 'surprisingly fluid' and I would have to agree with that - these just glide over the lips without any tact or bunching. Thanks to the moisturizing formula, these are not sticky in the slightest and don't leave that nasty ring around your lips that some glosses do as they wear away, which is a HUGE plus in my books!
I got five of the eighteen (!!!) shade range, and as you can see in the swatches above some have more of a creamy finish, while others have a glimmer, and finally a full sparkle. My personal favourite is #629 "Mirrored" which translates to a stunning rose gold on the lips!
If you're a lip gloss lover, you're going to love the Dior Addict Ultra-Glosses. If you're someone who normally finds lip gloss sticky or annoying to wear then these are definitely a formula you should give a try - they might just be the gloss that makes you love gloss!
