I'm excited to announce a new series here on Girl Loves Gloss called World Wide Beauty, where brands from around the world are chosen to represent their home country. Naturally, since it is Canada Day I had to kick this series off with my home and native land, and celebrate with a Canadian brand that has changed the idea of what lipstick is meant to be made of: Bite Beauty.
Founded by Suzanne Langmuir, Bite Beauty is based out of Toronto, and focuses on organic, natural ingredients that most might find in their kitchen! With ingredients like Resveratrol (the antioxidant found in red wine; Each lipstick has the equivalent of 5 glasses!) and without nasties like parabens, sulfates and phthalates, Bite Beauty wants your lipstick to be good enough to eat. I mean, it is on your lips after all... There is even their Lip Lab in New York City, where you can go create your own perfect custom lip shade and formula. Imagine the hours that could be spent there!

The packaging is sleek charcoal grey, which each formula having their own funky shaped lid, except for the lip masks which come in a handy toothpaste like squeeze tube. Some have said these can be a little hard to get product out of, but I see that as a good thing because a little dab will do ya!
Even more exciting, Bite Beauty has a Canadian exclusive collection launching this month for fall 2015 with five brand new Matte Creme Lipsticks* with a maple scent, and shades inspired by the changing leaves during the Canadian fall. Watch for a follow up post on those when they are available to the public. I got my hands on the five lipstick shades (there is also a limited edition Maple Agave Lip Mask!) and they are gorgeously pigmented, luxe feeling formula.
And even more exciting news? Watch for the new line of Opal topcoat lipstick and Creme Lip Gloss coming soon. Think gorgeous glimmering opal that can be worn on top of any shade to give it a little je ne sais quoi. I may have just gotten one of the new Opal Creme Lip Glosses* to giveaway to one lucky reader, so watch for that post soon!
Have you tried Bite Beauty? What is your favourite product?
I personally couldn't agree with Susanne's statement, "At the end of the day, lipstick is something you should have a little fun with."
