Rounding up the highlights from June 29th-July10th, including some monthly favourites, an exciting new launch, a sneak peek and trip down memory lane. Let's review, shall we?
We kicked off the end of June with my favourite products of the month. The aim last month was easy, relatively sweat proof makeup... and SPF - we're in the middle of a heatwave!
That week I also broke down some products with serious cult status, and weighed in on whether or not I thought they were worth the hype. Some might surprise you - read the post here.
Speaking of worth the hype - some new products have launched recently or are launching soon you might want to put on your wishlist. Illamasqua Gel Colour in Charm* blew me away, as I raved about in here.. Oh and the new exclusively Canadian Bite Beauty Maple Matte Creme Lipsticks*? Amazing (yes they smell like maple!) You can see my thoughts and swatches in this post. Bite Beauty also has a new Creme Lip Gloss launching called Opal*, which adds a gorgeous pearly transforming top to any lipstick. There's a sneek peek over on instagram, but expect thoughts (and a giveaway!) on this soon!
Whilst on the subject of Bite Beauty - we launched a new series July 1st called World Wide Beauty, which will feature brands from countries all over the world. Naturally we had to start with Canada, on Canada Day, eh? Expect some exciting things from this series, like some amazing deals and giveaways from some incredible brands we've got lined up!
Also recently launched : The Problem Solver Series had it's 3rd installment with 5 Tricks That Might Help Your Lip Colour Last Longer. Some are tale as old as time, others are straight from backstage, some are from my own personal experience. Take a boo at it here.
I've mentioned the heat wave, and surely if you follow me on Twitter you've heard plenty already. What this does mean though is lots of SPF, like my favourite Clarins mentioned in my June Favourites, and some serious skin TLC for my dried out over sunned limbs. This comes by way of the luxe yet totally worth it L'Occitane Milk Concentrate. I hoard it for special occasions or needs, and you can read my original post from way back here.
Mentioning 'way back when', I wrote a rather sentimental, close to my heart piece this past week about my makeup story. There's some fun anecdotes, a blue shadow reference and my first trip to Sephora in there. It's a good read, I promise.
Finally, we capped off the last two weeks with a good old #FridayFace post, that focuses on a gorgeous new custom palette from Buxom. Review, swatches and general eyeshadow porn coming early next week on that one.
On that note, you're all caught up and ready for another week of GLG goodness. Thanks for reading and let me know what your highlights from the last two weeks were in the comments below!
