December Beauty Favourites

December was a month of several 'new to me' products, and I always love it when I get a collection of products that just hit the ball out of the park. Not only were there some new bits, but some products that I had previously given the cold shoulder to, only to have them prove me wrong! (love that!)

Eyeshadow was clearly on my mind this past month because I fell in love with just a few *cough ok more than a few*. After their launch in the summer I hadn't really touched the Nars Dual Intensity Shadows, they just seemed too sparkly with not enough colour payoff to make them worth their pennies. That is until I started wearing Himalia, a golden taupe, which has become my 'one wash all over and call it a day' shadow. Somehow it manages to have enough dimension to do the job all on its own. Another one wash and you're done (sense a theme here?) is MAC Sable, a shadow I have somehow never managed to own until this month. I know, it baffles me too. Think the slightly pinker plummy bronze version of the Nars, that really makes the green in my eyes pop.
When it comes to palettes, there really only was one that made heavy rotation this month and it was the Urban Decay Naked Basics 2. Again something that didn't wow me at launch time, but then at first application I had several friends mention how good my eyes looked with the makeup I had done. that solidified that purchase, and in fact spawned me to purchase another for my BFF.

Complexion wise I had two standouts with one being the Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer. It's no secret here on GLG that I love Laura's primers, but the hydrating one really does the trick when the weather started changing and wreaking havoc on my skin. Of course, which the cold weather comes pastier skin that lacks dimension, which had me purchasing and subsequently falling in love with the MAC Sculpting Powder in Sculpt. It's only available in pan form online or in Pro stores, but if you can get your paws on it, do it. It makes the most lovely fool proof contour on my skin!

Speaking of skin, my showers have been completely dedicated to lathering up with the Lush Rose Jam Body Wash. This stuff smells absolutely divine, and only comes out during the holidays, so you can better believe I stocked up. Think juicy fresh roses with a touch of citrus; No old lady powdery rose here.

And while December is usually the month for glitter or merlot hued nails, I went with a deep grape purple in the form of Gloucester Walk by Nails Inc. Something about the purple just perked up the drab weather and managed to go with everything.

What products were you loving this month?
