HOT OR NOT? | Revlon Photoready Eye Art

I new Revlon display popped up this month in my local drugstore, boasting a similar packaging to their double ended nail polishes, but instead held a metallic cream shadow on one end and a corresponding glitter on the other. So naturally I had to try it and let you all know if it was hot or not.

I picked up the Revlon Photoready Eye Art in 060 Peach Prism, instantly being drawn to the metallic peach shade. As you can see in the swatch the colour goes on super smooth and opaque. The applicator is a doe foot, which actually applies it the best it seems as it is quite liquid until it sets. The good news? Once it sets its there, no creases. The bad? It can cake a bit in the inner and outer corners if you try and layer too much, and doesn't work well with patting on with a finger to sheer it out; You need to wear this product opaque.

Now let's talk about the glitter... Here's the thing, I'm not much of a glitter on the eyes type girl but I do think this is a nice fine golden peach glitter suspended in a clear gel like consistency. The idea is that you can layer the glitter over the metallic cream, but theory doesn't really translate here - the glitter makes the base look kind of chunky (though it does make the colour more rosy peach, if you like that)
Now of course you could always wear the glitter as liner which would be pretty, or as a bit of sparkle in the inner corner and it would be lovely. But would I buy it for the concept of layering? Nope.

So the verdict? Hot or Not? I am going with NOT purely on the basis that which the metallic side is gorgeous, it is tricky to work with, and I can't see myself getting much use out of the glitter. For the $12 CND I paid it just doesn't cut it. However if these went on for a decent offer in your local drugstore, you might want to take a look!

Have you tried these with good results?
