MAC Viva Glam Ariana Grande

If you're new to MAC Cosmetics as a brand, or have heard the term "Viva Glam" thrown out there before but didn't really get the meaning, it's a range of lip products that the brand donates 100% of the revenue from to the MAC AIDS Fund. The brand has been a pioneer in HIV/AIDS funding since the Viva Glam range was created in 1994 with the legendary RuPaul as the face, and has gone on to collaborate with some incredible stars such as Elton John, Rihanna, Boy George, Debbie Harry, Mary J Blige, Dita Von Teese, Lady Gaga and now, Ariana Grande - which I have a review and swatches of for you today!

Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lipstick | The Expansion

The launch of the Too Faced La Creme Lipsticks some years ago went a little unnoticed in my opinion. The original shade launch only had a handful of colours to choose from and though the formula was lovely, and the packaging classy (a switch from the brand's usual bright candy-kissed style) they just didn't seem to get the press they probably should have. Since then, there have been two expansions to the range, the most recent adding a whopping 10 more shades including everything from the baby blue hued Unicorn Tears* (it applies as a violet tinged pink opal rather than the candy floss blue the tube suggests) to the candy apple red, 90210hhh*. I recently got my hands on nine of the newest shades to the range and have some thoughts to share with you all. Let's tuck in....

Ellie Goulding for MAC | A Collection I Can Get Behind

 

If ever a MAC limited edition release seemed made for me! The MAC x Ellie Goulding collaboration is laced with super wearable everyday peaches and pinks. The collection screams of something I would gravitate towards and I would highly suggest if you love a great nudey-peach or golden pink, you head to your nearest MAC counter or get online now before its long gone.

Men's Aftershave as a Face Primer?

So ever since NikkieTutorials on Youtube mentioned that she loved using the Nivea Men Sensitive Skin After Shave Balm as a makeup primer, it's been blowing up all over the beauty networks of the interwebs. Girls everywhere have been hitting up their local drugstore for the stuff (I was surprised to find TWO of my local drugstores out of stock, and even more so when I was told that there had been a real demand for the stuff in the last few months... the power of the internet?) in hopes of finding a super affordable do-it-all primer that would keep their makeup on longer, smoother and yet hydrated. So, I caved to the curiosity and gave it a try... and I certainly have some thoughts about it....

Cult Classics | Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair

The Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II might be one of the most well known, iconic serums on the skincare market. The recognizable tortoise brown bottle with pipette packaging has been hyped up and praised by women (and men!) of all ages for years now (this is actually the newly improved formula that the brand switched it to a few years ago now). With such incredible cult classic status, I am surprised I've never written about it here before, because it really is one of those products that just does great things to skin. Let's talk it about it some more, shall we?

L'Oreal Does it Again with the Brow Stylist Plumper

L'Oreal has been knocking out some incredible products lately, and I am so here for it. First, I raved about the new True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation was not only a massive hit, but is already making Holy Grail status for me. Then I was also impressed by the Brow Stylist Definer which came out in a dark brunette shade that was beautifully ashy - a rarity for the drugstore!  Now I'm hear to talk about the L'Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper, a tinted fibre-infused brow gel. It seems the matte lip trend is going nowhere fast, and while MAC has always offered some of the mattest lipsticks shades around in their regular lipstick line, they've finally jumped on the liquid lipstick bandwagon with their Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolours. I got the chance to try 5 of their new 15 shade range have some definite thoughts about them.

This Just In | Too Faced Love Flush Blush Wardrobe

I love a good palette, there's no doubt about it when you see my ridiculous makeup hoarding collection. Not nearly enough brands do blush palettes in my opinion - I am so much more likely to break from a makeup rut if there are out-of-my-comfort-zone shades conveniently packaged alongside some great neutrals and everyday colours. Diversity, ya know?

So when the Too Faced Love Flush Blush Wardrobe* showed up I danced a little jig and let out a squeal of joy (Mr. GLG knows this as Happy Makeup Dance) seeing that it had all 6 shades in the permanent range!

This Just In | Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette

There's been no shortage of neutral themed eyeshadow palettes in the last few years, and everytime I think I've seen every take on it a brand comes out with another. So when Too Faced dropped the Chocolate Bar, and Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palettes, I just wasn't that fussed. However, I have to say when I saw their newest offering, the Chocolate Bon Bons Palette* I couldn't help but swoon a little. With it's heart theme like a box of bonbons, and chocolatey scent I knew I wanted to try it. 

So, was the third installment in this confection-themed line the one?

Mascara Monday | CoverGirl Plumpify BlastPro Waterproof

It's Mascara Monday again and this time I put to the test one of the more unique looking mascara wands I've seen in a long time. While the recent slew of mascaras from the brand hadn't impressed me, I still felt drawn to try out the CoverGirl Plumpify Blast Pro Mascara due to the beyond crazy brush on it. Besides promising 'extreme plump and lift' on the package, it also boasts 50x the volume! I'll be the judge of that...

With cushion compacts being all the rage thanks to Korean beauty trends forever paving the way for new and innovative cosmetics, I knew it would only be a matter of time until some big name beauty brands started stocking the shelves with them here.
