WEEKEND EDITION #1 | Allergic Reaction Woes

It's the last weekend of June - gah where has the time gone? Welcome to the 1st Weekend Edition post, something I plan on writing weekly recapping my week and highlights from Girl Loves Gloss over the last 7 days.

The week started with a bit of shopping, and instant love found with Clinique's Sparkle Skin Exfoliating Cream. Seriously, my skin stays soft for days after using this, and my Keratosis Pilaris has never been smoother.

Unfortunately, the week also started with the worst allergic reaction I have ever been subjected to. The culprit you ask? St. Tropez Tanning Mousse. Yep the much lauded, often beloved and seriously highly priced tanning product that everyone seems to love, yet it hates me. I have never had a reaction like this before, and I wouldn't consider my skin particularly sensitive but within a few hours of using this product I began to feel itchy around my neck and face. Then, I noticed teeny little bumps had developed all over my shoulders and chest. Then I woke up in the middle of the night trying to scratch my face and neck skin off :-( Add in a swollen throat, and my entire face breaking out into little bumps and rough textured skin and I was a right wreck. Thankfully, due to the amazing advice found over on Caroline's blog and a complete over haul on my skincare routine (blog post coming soon) I can say that my skin is back to normal, and in fact much smoother and softer than it was to begin with! ( looking at the bright side here...)

Back to the shopping, another purchase made last week that has quickly become one of my favourite things ever was my Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess perfume - which spurred 3 separate comments from strangers on how lovely I smelled this week, only one of which came across creepy (If you follow me on twitter you may have read my post about the man who groaned "Godddddd you smell good!" as I passed him leaving an elevator)

Finally, I'll end this post with what I am sporting on my nails this weekend - Essie's Lights from last years Poppy Razzi Collection, as seen in the picture above with my current favourite base and top coat by Revlon.

How was your week? What are you sporting on your nails right now? Have you ever had an allergic reaction to a product others seem to love?
