Recently I stumbled across this beauty on the web, and I was instantly intrigued. You see, exfoliators in general have been a bit of a pain in the you know what for me for years. I've struggled finding something that has the right amount "grit" - not too chunky that it makes a massive mess of my shower, and not too sparse to the point of feeling like I am doing nothing.
Enter Clinique's Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream ( yep, it's a bit of a mouthful, that title). After scouring the interwebs for reviews, I read many saying this was a great scrub to combat Keratosis Pilaris; Something I have battled since I was a young teen. While nothing can fully rid skin of this condition ( trust me, I have been hopelessly been trying and hoarding products for years with the dream of smooth skin) the condition can be greatly improved upon. I can't tell you how smooth my skin felt after using this amazing scrub, even for the first time!
Now, I will say, this isn't one of those lush smelling products that make you want to light candles, soak in the tub and read a book (don't I wish I had the time for such things!) It has a genuine menthol smell (matching it's minty blue hue), but I will say that the smell doesn't cling like some can follow you around. The thing I love so much about this scrub compared to it's chunky sugar and salt rivals is the fact that the scrub is so finely milled. It really sticks to the skin in the shower, making it super effective and less dangerous that those oily sticky versions that can lube up the floor of your bath like nobody's business. Which brings me to my next point - the amazingness it is for your pre-self tanning scrub! Due to the fact that it doesn't leave any oily residue on your skin, this is the perfect exfoliator to prep your skin for your favourite self tanner (minus the face - this is not recommended for use on the face, I am still looking for the perfect face scrub!)
A little goes a long way too, making this massive 240ml tub a steal at $28 Canadian.
Let's just say, it has made permanent home in my shower, which is no easy feat!
