Dragging Out the Summer Glow

clarins instant light radiance boosting complexion base in 05

We're nearing the end of August, which means for this part of the world that Summer is not going to be around much longer. This time of year I always feel a bit torn. On one hand by this stage of the season I am tired of feeling like I'm in a constant state of sweat and am seriously daydreaming about cosy sweaters and clothing in layers. On the other hand I still want a (fake) tan and apply bronzer all over my body. Enter in the product that helps seasonal transition easier and makes dragging out the summer glow effortless.

Aerin Gardenia Rattan | The Scent That Might Remind You of Your Grandmother (in the best possible way!)

Aerin Gardenia Rattan Eau de Parfum Fragrance review

I recently got the chance to try some bits from the Aerin range and one of the products that stood out the most was the Gardenia Rattan Eau de Parfum Spray*.  The bottle is utterly gorgeous with its gold accents and jade top cap, but that wasn't the first thing I noticed about it. Instead I took an initial sniff and immediately had memories of my grandmother as a kid wearing a scent that had similar notes. So much so I called my mother to mention it. Naturally the first time she smelled it she said, "oh yeah, that's her alright!"

Tarte's Tarteguard 30 | The SPF My Dry Skin is Digging

tarte tarteguard 30 spf sunscreen review

Finding a decent SPF should have been something on my list many, many years ago. But like many other girls of my generation, I wanted every chance I could get to get a little colour on my face. I know... I know... cringe...

The Summer Coral | MAC Vegas Volt Lipstick

mac vegas volt swatch and review

Normally my Summer go-to lipstick is some peachy pink hybrid that you can slick on sans mirror. Occasionally though I just need something that has some more punch to it, you know? Enter in MAC's Vegas Volt Lipstick - an orangy coral that just pops!

Inner Beauty | Beating Summer Bloat

skinnymint tea detox review

As someone who isn't as thin as I would like to be, I know all too well how uncomfortable it can be to fit into summer clothes when the weather is hot and I generally feel 'puffier' than usual. This time of year when the temperatures rise, the last thing you want to feel is bloated, so here are some tips for keeping things feeling good on the inside, and looking good on the outside.

New Favourite | Mac RazzleDazzler Lipstick

mac razzle-dazzler lipstick review swatch

I'm perpetually on the hunt for the perfect peach lipstick formula. I don't think I'll ever be satisfied, but rather continue to collect pinky peach and peachy pink (they are different, don't you know) hued lipstick loveliness for the dawn of time. I want them smoothing, not mattifying or cakey, slightly glossy and pigmented enough to cover my dark pigmented lips. Not too much to ask, right?
Some women collect shoes, I prefer to diversify my lipstick collection.

Current Beauty Wish List Wants

wishlist, lancome miracle sponge foundation, sunday riley luna, clarins aquatic treasures, benefit push up liner, too faced love flush blush

For the month of my birthday, I've bought an embarrassingly small amount of beauty product for a blogger. Great for my wallet, but the wishlist is growing. Here are six products that have piqued my interest this month!

5 Favourite Blushes for Summer

We're only a few short weeks to kicking off Summer in this part of the world, and I for one feel like that is the perfect time to profess my love for a good warm weather hued blush. This time of year I tend to lean more to warmer corals, pinks and of course peaches, which seem to naturally be more flattering on sun kissed skin (or rather bottled sun kissed skin!). Here's my top picks for five blushes I don't plan on being without for the next few months.

Summer Proof Makeup That Actually Lasts

long lasting summer makeup, tarte, make up for ever, mac, laura mercier, urban decay, l'oreal, illamasqua, anastasia beverly hills, benefit
When the weather gets warmer and the Summer rolls around, getting your makeup to last and stay fresh can be a serious challenge. I for one don't love touching up my makeup throughout the day unless it's lip colour, and I especially don't love toting around makeup in my handbag just in case it melts off my face. So after plenty of trial and error (and a trip to Florida last September), I've learned which product stand the test of time (and heat, and humidity).
