It's Back... In Limited Edition | Laura Mercier Artist Palette

Just a month or so ago I blogged this post, about some of my favourite limited edition and discontinued products. Well guess what? One at the top of the list, the Laura Mercier Artist Palette is back as a limited edition on Sephora.com. Now I can't vouch for how long this will be around, because the first time round these sold out lickity split. I highly recommend you march your behind over to Sephora.com and pick one up while they are still available online!

Favourites | The Best of Beauty for March 2015

March 2015 makeup and beauty favourites, benefit roller lash, benefit puff off, diorskin nude bb creme, laura mercier rose petal blush, clarins instant light lip perfector,

Obligatory, "where has the month gone?" questions generally mean it's time for Monthly Favourites. March was one of those months where I didn't think I'd have a ton of favourites in my list, but then as I started pulling them out to photograph, I realized I actually had quite a few!

A Tale Of Two Sponges | Beauty Blender vs Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

For the longest time I really couldn't understand the hype around using a damp (and expensive) makeup sponge to blend foundation. I mean surely it didn't work as well as buffing it in with a brush? Even more so, could they possibly be worth upwards of almost $30 CND? Finally, does the drugstore 'dupe' work just as well? Let's break it down, shall we?

Sunday Splurge | Make Up For Ever Aqua Seal

make up for ever aqua seal

Usually Sundays around here are devoted to awesome bargain beauty purchases that rival luxury brand quality, but occasionally I like to switch things up and pull one of my favourite high end products that is totally worth the splurge.

Weekend Round Up | The Highlights of March 22nd-27th

weekend round up, benefit cosmetics, mac, the balm, national puppy day, jack black, too faced, nars, tarte
Rounding up my favourite looks, post highlights and products I've got my hands on this week. Here's some of the best for March 22nd-27th 2015.

Friday Face | Warm Sunset Eyes

warm sunset eyeshadow look, mac sable, laura mercier burnished bronze, the balm mary lou manizer

For my Friday Face this week I decided to choose a look that was a bit more bold for me - a warm sunset light golden bronzed eye. Take a look at the how I went about getting this look with the products and steps below!

Favourites | Mac Eyeshadows

mac cosmetics eyeshadows
I recently posted on my Instagram that I thoroughly loved organizing my Mac eyeshadow palettes ( I know, super geek right here) and I got some questions about some of my favourite Mac eyeshadows. I should preface this post by saying that my mac shadow collection is pretty massive... embarrassingly so.. but I tried to pick shadows that I really feel the brand does best.

The Colour Line Up | The Navy Edit

I know the mention of blue eyeshadow often raises brows and has people cringing thinking of teenage beauty nightmares. Me too, me too.
Having said that, I've really been enjoying rocking some navy blue on the eyes these days. My preferred method is in the form of winged liner, or smudged around the lashes, and these are my four picks for my favourite navy eye products.

Which Base For What | Eyeshadow Bases

eyeshadow bases and primers mac paintpot soft ochre, make up for ever aqua cream, nars pro prime smudge proof eyeshadow base, too faced glitter glue

A good long while ago I wrote a post detailing foundation bases, and which ones worked for what purposes. This time round we're talking about eyeshadow bases/primers, and which ones I choose for which reasons. Let's break it down...

Sunday Steals | Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm

Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm Review GirlLovesGloss.com

I'm surprised I haven't already posted this product as a Sunday Steal before, I thought I had. I've sung it's praises several times here on GLG, but this time round it's because of what a bargain this is. Head on over to the men's section (yup) and pick this bad boy up - for less that $9. Your lips will thank you.

Weekend Round Up | The Best of March 15th-20th

weekend round up, st patricks day, mac palettes, ilamasqua, benefit, chanel, mascara monday, kat von d, too faced,
Rounding up new product releases, post highlights and products I've got my hands on this week. Here's some of the best for March 15th-20th 2015.

Friday Face | The "I'm in a rush and don't have time for makeup" Look

10 minute makeup, illamasqua lover hussy, shu uemura eyelash curler, chanel vitalumiere, marc jacobs eyeliner, benefit gimme brow, makeup for ever aqua cream 13

Normally I am the type of girl who actually really enjoys the process of putting on my makeup in the morning. I love the routine of it, and how I can choose the look I want day to day. Sometimes however life gets in the way and I just need to slap something on my face to keep a polished look but get out the door in 10 minutes. These are those products, along with some tips to keep things moving fast!

Neutrals | Current Favourites For Eyes, Cheeks and Lips

neutral eyeshadow palette, urban decay naked basics 2, tarte tartelette palette, tarte peaceful blush, marc jacobs highliners, make up for ever aqua cream 13, maybelline creamy beige color tattoo, clarins instant light lip perfector, your lips but better, my lips but better,
In years past I was a big colour lover when it came to makeup. Purple was my comfort place. As I've gotten older (eww) I've found myself embracing a good neutral a lot more. I also learned that neutral doesn't have to mean straight up brown and beige - there are pink neutrals, plum neutrals, gold neutrals. You get the point. Here are my picks for some of my favourite neutral themed products as of late. Be prepared to read the word 'neutral' more times than you ever cared to...

Mascara Monday | Kat Von D Immortal Lash Mascara

kat von d immortal lash mascara review girllovesgloss.com beauty blog
It's Mascara Monday around the GLG office again which means I give a mascara the full run through with before and afters pictures, a no holds barred review and a full analysis of who I think would benefit from wearing said mascara. I take my mascara very seriously.
I recently got the chance to test out the Kat Von D Immortal Lash Mascara, which has a very bizarre and unique looking wand to it and a claim of 24 hour wear (for reals?). The formula is also stated to leave lashes soft and conditioned... which usually means for me that it doesn't hold a curl. So lets break it down shall we?

Sunday Steals | Sleek Contour Kit in Light

Sleek Contour kit in light
It's Sunday and that means it's time to post another awesome beauty bargain that is top notch quality without causing your wallet to spontaneously combust. Last week I posted a Sunday Splurge that cashed in at almost $30 CND, so this time round I thought I go for a product that is under a tenner!

Weekend Round Up | The Best of March 8th-13th

weekend roundup, loreal intenza, marc jacobs the tease palette, international womens day 2015, zoolander 2, mac eyeshadow palettes, discontinued beauty, face of the day,
Rounding up new product releases, post highlights and products I've got my hands on this week. Here's some of the best for march 8th-13th 2015.

The Friday Face | March 13th 2015

girllovesgloss.com face of the day #fotd, benefit gimme brow, illamasqua furore, tarte tipsy, tarte park ave princess, marc jacobs brownout, anastasia dipbrow ash brown, mac eyeshadows
I've been thoroughly enjoying posting the odd 'face of the day' shots on instagram as of late, and I thought I might like to expand on that notion by occasionally posting my favourite of these looks here. Hence the term "friday face" was born. Please let me know if you like this idea and if you are interested in seeing more #fotd posts!

Favourite Limited Edition or Discontinued Makeup

discontinued limited edition makeup, laura mercier artist 2 palette, mac eyeshadow early morning, velvet moss, benefit bella bamba, mac lichen eye kohl, mac pink swoon blush

You know that thing when you find something you love, the perfect eyeshadow colour, blush or liner and then you find out that: a) it was limited edition probably never to be made again, or b) it has since been discontinued, only to be going for three times the retail price on ebay. How rude.
Let's talk about our favourite, once upon a time available products, shall we?

Hype Worthy | Luxury Makeup Worth the Price

luxury makeup illamasqua hydra veil, dior star foundation, tarte amazonian clay blush, formula x, ysl glossy stain, laura mercier tightline cake liner

There are some things in this world that are just worth paying for. I've found myself collection more higher end and luxury makeup products over the years, simply for the fact that I find the quality generally reflects the price (not always, but often!). Here are six of my current favourites that are pricey, but totally worth saving your couch change for.

Spring Makeup Edit 2015

spring makeup, marc jacobs beauty the tease palette, ysl glossy stain 27, mac paint pot perky, tarte blush blissful, benefit creaseless cream rsvp, clarins instant complexion base

It's approximately twelve days until Spring (but who's counting?) and it's the season where I find myself reaching for colour a bit more after a long haul of neutrals in Autumn and Winter. Here's my picks for sunnier weather and blooming blossoms (it's just sounds lovely, doesn't it?)

Mascara Monday | L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Intenza Mascara

l'oreal voluminous butterfly intenza mascara review

Back with another #mascaramonday post - you all know how much I love trying mascaras, but especially so if they have a cult status or are the sequel to one I already know and love. When I saw that L'Oreal had come out with a different version of my absolute favourite Butterfly Mascara and then a good friend told me she loved it, I was sold.

#DearMe | Thoughts for My Younger Self

#dearme campaign international womens day 2015
Me at 20 years old in 2003 on the left, and me today, March 8th 2015
In honour of International Womens Day 2015, I thought I would post some thoughts I wish I had known as my younger self. Youtube has been promoting it's #DearMe campaign, asking women to share their thoughts for their younger selves to help reach out to the young female population and promote the mantra : it gets better.

Sunday Splurge | Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder

laura mercier secret brightening powder real techniques setting brush

I know what you're all thinking, "Isn't it supposed to be Sunday Steals?" and usually Sundays are the days I post about awesome affordable beauty finds. Today however I thought I'd go the other end of the spectrum and post about something I think is totally splurge worthy and worth the hype.

Weekend Round Up | The Best of March 1st-6th

Weekend Round Up Monthly Favourites, Mac spring 2015, clinique spring 2015, drugstore favourites, primers
Rounding up new product releases, post highlights and products I've got my hands on this week. Here's some of the best for February 22nd-27th 2015.

Girl on the Train by paula Hawkins, Shopaholic to the Stars by Sophie Kinsella, Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes

I thought it might be fun to take a step away from my usual beauty banter and talk about some of the pages I've been turning lately. At any given time I have about 13 books on the go, but these three are hanging around on my windowsill by my desk taunting me to read them.

The 90's Face... Reinvented

90s makeup, clarins instant light lip, benefit roller lash, mac blush prism, mac whirl lip pencil, nyc liquid liner

Recently I've been all about revamping my favourite shades I rocked in the 90s (yep, I was a teenager in the 90s.. cough, don't tell anyone). I'm talking a slick of liner, rosy nude cheeks and and pinky brown lip liner. Thankfully I feel like I'm pulling it off which much more finesse than I did in '95... don't worry, there was no hair mascara, cheek glitter or silver eyeliner used in this look!

Primers That Work

Up until a couple years ago I really thought primers were a bunch of crap. Being blunt here. But if you think about it, they make sense right? You prime your nails with base coat, you prime your walls before you paint - we even prime our skin with serum before moisturizer!
There are different primers for different jobs, and here are a handful of my favourites that actually work, and what they are best suited for.

Ten Drugstore Favourites

drugstore makeup NYC, sleek, bourjois, NYX, loreal, clarins, real techniques, maybelline

It's been a while since I rounded up some favourites from the good old drugstore. Most of the time I'm a firm believer in the 'you get what you pay for' mantra, but occasionally a bargain product will impress me to the point that it rivals the quality of luxury cosmetics. Let's break it down, shall we?

Online Beauty Shopping | Where to Buy What

online shopping, sephora, beautybay, beautylish, lookfantastic, feelunique,

The other day my bff asked me where the best online sites to buy makeup and beauty goodness were, and naturally I started rambling off a list of my favourite haunts. I had no doubt I overwhelmed her when she said' "maybe you can just email them to me?" which got me thinking -"Maybe I should blog about it?" So here you have it, my favourite places to shop makeup and beauty online and highlights that are worth looking at before you click, "Checkout"...

Monthly Favourites | February 2015

february makeup beauty nail favourites, tarte, loreal, urban outfitters, laura mercier, anastasia beverly hills dipbrow

Good grief it's March, and that means another handful of favourite makeup and beauty bits for the month of February to share with you all. It's a nice mixed bag of new product launches, repeat favourites, and new to me products this month, so lets dive in...

Sunday Steals | Maybelline Color Tattoo in Creamy Beige

maybelline color tattoo tough a taupe creamy beige Mac Groundwork dupe

I love a good bargain as much as the next gal - even better when it prices in at under a tenner. Not only is this Sunday Steal a complete dupe for a higher price tagged brand, but it's been my go-to everyday easy eye look several times in the last couple of weeks.
