DUPE ALERT | Essence I ♥ Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara

"Dupe" usually refers to a product that matches up pro for pro with another, usually something that costs more, therefor making finding an affordable "dupe" a highly covetable discovery. But what about when your so-called dupe actually out performs it's higher priced twin? Well then we've got a real winner on our hands, now don't we?

YOU SAY YOU WANT A REVOLUTION | Urban Decay Lipstick in Streak

OK, so I couldn't help The Beatles reference, so sue me. Urban Decay released these lipsticks at the end of the summer and I held back on buying one, not really loving the brands offerings of lip products in the past. I can happily report I've been won over, and plan on adding many more into the line up. Because I need more lip colour... {that was half sarcastic half lying to myself}

FAVOURITES | February 2014 Best Of

SOMETHING BLUE | Essie's Borrowed & Blue

Essie Borrowed & Blue Girllovesgloss.com

I wasn't looking for a blue polish when I stumbled across Essie's Borrowed & Blue in the drugstore the other day. In fact, I picked it up, then put it back down, but once I'd rounded the store I was still thinking about it, which means an all clear to buy in my world.

BARGAIN BUY | Maybelline Color Tattoos

Maybelline Color Tattoo Inked in Pink Bad to the Bronze on GirlLovesGloss.com

We all love a good bargain, right? Sure luxury cosmetics pack a punch with their pretty packaging, and more often than not I am impressed quality wise more with higher end purchases. Perhaps its mental; I expect higher quality from a higher price tag (and so a girl should!) Quite often drugstore purchases just let me down (minus the mascara selection, I'll always love the drugstore for mascara!). Pigmentation and staying power are usually at the top of the list for things that let me down, which brings me to a bargain buy that packs a powerful punch in both areas, and still manages to come in under a tenner. Believe it.

LUXURY LIPS | Is Dior's Creme de Rose Hypeworthy?

You know when you splurge on something and you think to yourself, "it's just got to be that good to cost this much" ? I felt that way when I shelled out $29 CAD for the Dior Creme de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm (yep its a mouthful. Ha, see what I did there??) After reading about it incessantly on blogs everywhere, and being a forever dry lipped gal I knew I need to give it a go.

THE LINE UP | Peach Lovers

Let's talk about monochrome, shall we? There are just some colours that have power in numbers. Peach is just one of those shades I love all over; Peach works on the eyes, lips and cheeks, and rumour has it peach is the hot shade for spring. Don't have to tell me twice!

THE LBL | Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper

The Little Black Liner, also known in my world as the LBL. Forget having that black dress you wear to funerals and dinner parties alike, every girl needs a great black eyeliner in her makeup wardrobe. Previously I had blogged about my favourite pencil version, found in the Urban Decay 24/7 formula in the shade Perversion, but I was really lacking an easy does it one swipe liquid liner for that coveted winged liner look. Until now anyways...

NUDE NAILS | Formula X for Sephora Does it Again!

Well, but now you know my love for the Formula X for Sephora polishes... I've collected quite a few in the short time since I discovered them. I've been loving the entire system, and have been impressed by the colour variety in the line, but I was needing something a little more naked. In the past I have found it really hard to find decent nude nail colour that goes on streak free, opaque in two coats and isn't too brown, too pink, or too peach. Well folks, I think I just found it.

MONTHLY MUST BUY | Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask

I noticed a few of my favourite bloggers post once a month with their pick of the one product you should buy if you buy anything, and I love the idea. In the beauty blogging world it can get so easy to get caught up with a list of "wants" and watch your wallet get lighter and lighter. I love the idea of saying, "this is what I would by this month if I could only buy one thing"
Thus, a new series on GirlLovesGloss is born - the Monthly Must Buy, which will be posted the first Monday of each month. I'll also be posting links to my Luvocracy page, a pinterest-esque place where I am cataloging all my favourites, loves and wants. I'd love if you followed me over there (hint, when you sign up for a free account you get a $10 credit to purchase anything you find posted!)

GIMME SOME LOVIN' | The Blogger Love Tag

This afternoon when I was playing a little catch up with my BlogLovin feed, I came across the lovely Fee's post, The Blogger Love tag, and it not only was it enjoyable to read, but it helped me find a couple new blogs to read. Bonus! I thought it might be fun to give it a go here and join in with the beauty blogger community a bit.
