THIS JUST IN | New Product Launches

nars contour blush, tarte amazonian clay, sephora

I get schoolgirl giddy when my favourite brands launch new products - especially when they are new to the line, or new shades for products I already know and love. Whilst in the magically land of Sephora the other day, I picked up 3 new products that are new in some way. Take a look...

BALM BASICS | The Lip Balm Lovers Post

There are few things I would consider myself a bit of an expert on: losing bobbi pins, mascara, classic rock music... and lip balm to name a few. Here's a little post all about some lip balms that have made there way through my arsenal and why you may, or may not like them.

FAVOURITES | April 2014 Best of Beauty

April brought a good amount of new favourites for me, which also means I've been spending too much damn money on new stuff. Shhhhh. Come to think of it, I actually have a full face of makeup in my favourites alone, with a cleanser to take it all off even! Take a look at the things I've been reaching for over and over this past month....

HYPE WORTHY | Products You Don't Hear Nearly Enough About

The beauty industry is a crazy place filled with product placements, sponsored posts and hyped up products that you just need to have. Occasionally though a product comes along that just blows my socks off, and I'm always a little surprised when others haven't raved about my new found marvel. Here's a look at some products that I adore, but never hear much about...

THE BEST OF | Neutral Lipsticks

Having a good neutral lipstick (or rather a handful in my case) is essential to any makeup collection. Sometimes you just need a swipe on a go kinda lip, something that just works with everything. Here's my top picks for neutrals...

MASCARA MONDAY | Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Volume Express

I saw this in the drugstore the other day and was surprised because previously I hadn't heard a single thing about it. Usually when a new mascara arrives on the market its all over blogs and YouTube within a week. The package claimed 12x the volume, so I decided to put it to the test and grabbed the waterproof version.

GETTING THE GLOW | Luminizers and Highlighters

Being blessed with dry and dehydrated skin means sometimes I just need to fake the glow some of you may come by naturally (rub it in why dontcha?) These products have become my staples for getting that light from within glow. Fake it till ya make it, amiright?

BLING | Bella-Bijou Jewellery 20% off Spring Sale

So if you are new to GirlLovesGloss.com (welcome!) you may not know that my day job is being a silversmith! I design and create jewellery with hammers and torches and pearls and gemstones and it's all sorts of fun! I have two different lines, www.bellabijoujewellery.etsy.com is full of my one of a kind designs, and www.bella-bijou.com is my regular catalog.

Every Spring I have a 20% off purchases of $30 or more sale to kick in a new season, and this year it is running from now until midnight on the 21st of April 2014 with the discount code SPRING2014

Take a peek and do some shopping now, and get it for Mothers Day, or just to treat yourself for making it through the Winter!

BUDGET BEAUTY | The Drugstore Face

It's no joke I love my higher end cosmetics - I love the luxury packaging and the nice scents and shade ranges that tend to come with the higher price tag. Having said that, sometimes you just don't want to splurge, and I've grabbed a handful of products that are all drugstore available for a guilt free face.

MONDAY MAKEUP | Hands On Beauty Products

So it's Monday morning and the thought of getting out of bed a second faster than you have just seems cruel. I've put together a short list of products that I feel are best applied with the tools we're born with : our fingers. A swipe here, pat there and you've shaved off a few minutes of that morning routine!

THE SKINCARE EDIT | What I Currently Reach For

One thing I have been lucky enough with through out my years (even the dreaded teen years) is having even clear skin. If you read my Teenage Chronicles series you might know that up until I was 20 I used Noxema (*gasp*) but into my twenties I started really suffering with dry sensitive skin. Here's a bevy of products I use to keep my skin in tip top shape that are tried and true...

THE LETDOWNS | Hyped Up Edition

Being the makeup junkie I am, I've tried countless (seriously, let's not count) products in search for the perfect lip/mascara/shadow/liner/insertotherbeautyproducthere. Now, naturally there are going to be more than a few duds in the lot, but more often than not, I am extra disappointed when I don't like a product that everyone else and their Mother seem to love. So let's just compile a list of some products that were really hyped up, that just didn't do it for me... This may get controversial...

SEPHORA VIB | Things You Also Might Like

So in yesterday's post I waxed on about the things I hauled in the Sephora VIB sale, but here's a run down of some other recent purchases (I know, I clearly have a problem) that I am loving and wouldn't have purchased had I not already bought them...

SEPHORA VIB | What I Bought

Sephora's annual Spring VIB sale started the other day, and you can bet your shirt that I was in there on the first day (what can I say? I hate shopping when the stock is picked over...) Stay tuned for a post about the goodies I purchased, and tomorrow about recent purchase loves that I also recommend picking up at 15% off...

MONTHLY MUST BY | Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector

If you are new to Girl Loves Gloss, I choose one product each month I think is worth your money and name it the Monthly Must Buy, you can read about February's pick here, and March's pick here. If you only buy one thing this month, I urge you to spend your hard earned coin on this...

SUNDAY SPARKLE | Illamasqua Trilliant Nail Varnish

So, I am at the point where I only buy new nail polishes when the shade is really unique. I mean really something special. Considering I have an embarrassingly large bin of polishes, and more than a few accidental dupe buys, I really need to reserve real estate for one of a kinds. So basically, that's how I justified this last purchase...

CUSTOM SELF TANNING | Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster

Made to measure tanning? Why hasn't this been a thing before now? When I heard Clarins was coming out with a new tanning product I was on board before even seeing it. After discovering Clarins skin care as well as their Liquid Bronze gradual face tanner last year, I knew the brand kept their promises when it comes to easy to use affordable products that pack a punch.

THE TEENAGE CHRONICALS | The 90's Part Two

Last week I mentioned how much I love a bit of #throwbackthursday over on Instagram, and so I took a walk down memory lane to the 90's, or rather my teen years. It was a rough decade in my opinion for beauty and fashion, but hey, I could catch myself saying that again in 10 years. Here's part two with a bunch more 90's cringe worthy goodness...

THIS JUST IN | Urban Decay Waterproof Cream Eyeliner in Perversion

If you read this post from way back in the summer, you may remember me professing my love for Urban Decay's 24/7 Pencil in Perversion. It's just something I always have on hand for a quick blackening of the waterline or tightline, a smudgy smokey eye or just straight up sooty inky matte black liner. Urban Decay offered up a liquid liner under the same shade name, but it just never float my boat, and then this bad boy was released and I knew it had to be mine...

FUSS FREE BLUSH | Bourjois Cream Blush in 01

Given my dry and dehydrated skin, you would think cream blush formulas and I would be besties, but alas I really struggle finding one that sets and stays around. Cream blush can propose quite the formula dilemma; Cream to powders can look dry and cakey and stickier formulas seem to shift around. I stumbled across this one purely because of the colour, and the formula just happens to work wonderfully too. Bonus!
