Dark Circles Beware: Kat Von D's Lock It Concealer Creme

Kat Von D Concealer Creme Review and Swatches

Le't make this clear right from the get-go - I look half asleep  (*cough* dead) without undereye concealer. I also find it one of the toughest products to shop for because everything is either too dry, too creasy, doesn't come in the right shade for me or doesn't last worth a damn. The struggle is real, folks.
When I heard about the newly launched Kat Von D Concealer Creme, and that it was a completely new formula, I just had a good feeling. Turns out, I should always listen to my gut, because this stuff kicks ass

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation and Aquacealer Review

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation and Aquacealer Review and Swatch
It's been a year of uber thin consistency foundations that are dispensed via a dropper and have words like "serum" and "water" in the title, hasn't it? A quick boo around Sephora, Nordstrom or any other major cosmetic retailer will have you convinced this is the wave of the future when it comes to weightless, skin like foundation. I'm not convinced, but the foundation junkie in me still wants to try every single one. You know, for blog purposes of course...
I was stupidly excited when I saw that Tarte, one of my favourite brands was releasing not only their Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation*, but also the Rainforest of the Sea Aquacealer*. Naturally, I couldn't wait to get them on my face and review them both for you all, especially after hearing some serious hype, but did they live up to my hopes and dreams?

The Colour Correcting Trend : Is It Necessary?

Color Correcting with Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid

Let's start this post off with three truths shall we? One: I may have had a few beers before writing this (so sue me). Two: I'm spending the day shopping with my Grandmother this week and I'm childishly excited about a little retail therapy. Three: I think the idea of colour correcting as the hot new trend is totally ridiculous. Yep, I went there.
With stores like Sephora literally devoting entire displays to products that are meant to colour correct, clearly its 2016's answer to the Strobing and Contouring trends of 2015. Here's the thing though - do we all really need to be colour correcting, and if so WHAT are we correcting and WHY?

I've been having a bit of a love-in with Make Up For Ever recently. Make Up For Ever recently launched the Ultra HD Concealer* and I knew I needed to try it to see if it lived up to the hype it's been getting...

5 Products I Didn't Think I'd Like, But I Did

smashbox primer water, anastasia dip brow, loreal intenza mascara, mac pro longwear concealer, benefit roller lash mascara

It's probably no surprise as a blogger that writes about makeup and beauty products and an overall beauty industry enthusiast, that I can be pretty picky about what I am looking for in a product. I don't often settle for products that don't do exactly what I want, and I usually have a solid idea if I'm going to like something before I purchase.
From time to time however, something will totally surprise me and prove my prior notions wrong. Here's a handful of products that I am glad to say well out performed what I expected.

The Great Cover Up | Which Concealer To Use and When

mac pro longwear, tarte maracuja creaseless concealer, benefit erase paste, urban decay 24/7 concealer pencil
Concealer is one of the first makeup items I remember finding intimidating. Back in my teen years it was mostly found in a lipstick like tube because the formula selection was dismal by todays standards. It was thick, cakey and often tangerine tinted. I remember all my friends just referred to it as 'cover up' - the word 'concealer' meant nothing to us.
These days, we are blessed to have concealing products in all different consistencies, as well as for various different purposes. Here are four of my favourites, and what I like to use them for...
