It's no secret that this girl loves her mascara (heck the blog would have been named that if it had a better ring to it!). I've been known to refer to my lashes as my "money makers" - because it's my favourite feature to play up. So when I saw that the legendary Charlotte Tilbury was coming out with a new mascara aptly named Legendary Lashes, I knew I had to try it.
Given that Charlotte's Full Fat Lashes has been one of my favourite mascaras I've worn in literal years, I had a pretty good gut feeling I was going to get on well with Legendary Lashes. The formula claims to be Charlotte's new "Instant Miracle Mascara" with an elastic formulation that extends the lashes outwards and can add up to 13x more volume in 3 coats. Besides a special blend of waxes, there are also ingredients like Marine Glycogen and Tamanu Oil, which aim to stimulate growth and regenerate lashes.
Obviously, any claims on lash growth and regeneration will take some time to test, but right off the bat I really like this mascara. I had worried at first glance it would be a clumpy nightmare because the texture is incredibly thick looking. The brush is very reminiscent of YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils (even the gorgeous gold tube has similarities) - but thankfully the formula lacks the ridiculously high amount of fragrance and does have a sort of elastic like feel to it like Charlotte suggests, which pulls through lashes nicely and also allows you to build to the desired volume much like Full Fat Lashes does.

I've worn Legendary Lashes now several times in a row for long days (12+ hours - and I've even topped it up once after a solid 8 hours of wear). The only day I had some wear time struggle was on a particularly humid day, where I noticed some smudge transfer from the tops of my lashes near my brow bone. Having said that, that was one day and all the other times I've worn it without smudges, flakes or dropping lashes. When it is time to take it off, I found it broke down with my regular oil cleanser in seconds and left no traces behind or in my eyes.
You'll be able to see by the before and after shots, that this really delivers on both volume and length. In fact, Mr. GLG even noticed one night claiming "your eyelashes are literally touching your eyebrows!". Much like Charlotte's original formula, this gives a nice fluttery effect, wings out nicely and seems to build endlessly whilst still feeling relatively soft in finish.
So basically I am completely unsurprised that Charlotte's Legendary Lashes Mascara does, in fact, perform quite legendarily. When it comes to mesmerising eyes, the woman has it down to an art and the mascara junkie in me lives for it. This will no doubt become my new favourite mascara (except for super hot days where I'll bust out a waterproof formula).
Have you tried either of Charlotte Tilbury's mascaras? What was the last mascara that blew you away?
