This Just In: Dior Addict Milky Tints for Summer 2016

When I got my hands on some of the new Dior Milky Dots Collection for Summer, I was instantly drawn to the Addict Milky Tints* at first sight. The aim with these is all about hydration and a wash of soft colour, and that's something that is right up my street in terms of a lip product! When words like, "supple", "smooth" and "quenched" are thrown out there, I get very interested and was quick to tear these out of their boxes and put them to the test. Here's how I got on:

The Luxe Blush I'm Loving: Tom Ford's Soleil Collection Sheer Cheek Duo in Bicoastal

The Tom Ford Sheer Cheek Duo in Bicoastal* falls into that 'almost too pretty to use' category, what with its white and gold trimmed packaging, and embossed powder texture. When I read the word "sheer" in the title, I immediately assumed this would lack pigment, but I couldn't have been further from the truth! Turned out this is a stunning rose/shell pink blush and highlighter in one that gives the perfect flush to summer tinted skin.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation and Aquacealer Review

It's been a year of uber thin consistency foundations that are dispensed via a dropper and have words like "serum" and "water" in the title, hasn't it? A quick boo around Sephora, Nordstrom or any other major cosmetic retailer will have you convinced this is the wave of the future when it comes to weightless, skin like foundation. I was stupidly excited when I saw that Tarte, one of my favourite brands was releasing not only their Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation*, but also the Rainforest of the Sea Aquacealer*. Naturally, I couldn't wait to get them on my face and review them both for you all, especially after hearing some serious hype, but did they live up to my hopes and dreams?

With brands launching highlighting products everywhere you turn, there's no doubt that the whole strobing/highlighting-to-be-seen-from-space trend is going nowhere. So really, it was only a matter of time before ever trendy Urban Decay launched a highlighting powder worth hyping. The Colour Edit : My Favourite Orange Makeup

I've always been a coral lover, in fact if you see a coral hued lipgloss or blush anywhere chances are I own it or have it on my wishlist. I'm a girl who knows what she likes! Lately though I've been experimenting with corals bolder sister: orange. Now I know it seems like a hard colour for most to pull off, but the right oranges can look amazing on all skin tones. I've been on the luxury mascara bandwagon for a little while now, and so I thought it might be time to put another good old drugstore find to the test. If you've read GLG for a while now, you'll know I was a big fan of the L'Oreal Butterfly Mascara, and an even bigger fan of Butterfly Intenza. Now L'Oreal has launched Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt, which has possibly the most bizarre wand yet, and aims to give the lashes a tightline effect at the roots and fanned out volume volume at the tips. So, did it deliver?

Nailed It : The Ten Spot Beauty Bar

Last month I had the very lucky fortune of being treated to a gel mani courtesy of the The Ten Spot nestled right in the heart of Yaletown here in Vancouver. This is just one of the latest beauty bar locations opened in the franchise created by Canadian delight Kristen Wood - The Ten Spot has been busy lacquering tips and waxing bits over in the Toronto area since 2006, and making a name for itself as THE place for manis pedis and waxing in magazines all over the nation since then! Besides getting a one on one skin consult and intro into an exciting skincare brand The Ten Spot is now carrying (more on that in another post!) I got a chance to chat with Kristen herself, swap fave lipstick shade details and walk out with gorgeous nude gel polish on my nails and a new found appreciation for the glory that is a gel manicure. 

Tom Ford Soleil Collection : Moisturecore Lip Color Review & Swatches

Though relatively new to the beauty world, Tom Ford has made a name for itself when it comes to incredible quality luxury cosmetics I've been dying to try the much touted lipstick formula for sometime, and when I saw the new Soleil Collection for Summer was releasing the limited edition Moisturecore Lip Color* I was instantly intrigued. I got my hands on three of the six shade release and put them to the test to see if they were worth all the fuss (and $$$!).

The Colour Correcting Trend : Is It Necessary?

Let's start this post off with three truths shall we? One: I may have had a few beers before writing this (so sue me). Two: I'm spending the day shopping with my Grandmother this week and I'm childishly excited about a little retail therapy. Three: I think the idea of colour correcting as the hot new trend is totally ridiculous. Yep, I went there.

In case you've been hiding under a rock for the last year or two, you may not have noticed that Aussie brand Becca have become the Queens of Glow. With the now infamous Shimmering Skin Perfectors coming in the classic liquid formula, pressed and poured, taking the world by storm (who didn't hear about Champagne Pop?) I knew it was only a matter of time they added a bit more colour to the range. Mascara Monday : Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara Review

I realize it's been ages and a day since I did a Mascara Monday post, but that's mostly to blame on the fact that I've been renewing my love for old faves recently. That is however, until I got the chance to try the newly released Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara*. Greatly hyped, Velvet Noir promises to be 'ultra-volumizing' with 'super-concentrated black pigments' that are also smudgeproof - sounds pretty amazing right? I definitely had my doubts which is why I was so eager to try it!
