Touted as a primer, mascara and lash serum all in one, this stuff has gotten some serious attention online since it's release - but does that teeny tiny little wand do what it says on the tin?

I can't remember the last product that I saw hyped up quite as much in the grand interwebs as the BECCA X Jaclyn Hill Shimmer Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop collaboration. With the hashtag #HighlightOnFleek spotted all over twitter, and makeup lovers stalking Sephora shelves for the peachy gold hued illuminating powder, I knew there had to be something to write home about.

If you haven't heard about Velvet 59 yet, I'm betting you will become familiar with the brand very soon. Brainchild of the 22 year old Paris Manning, Velvet 59 aims to capture a vintage glamour whilst using sustainable and 100% vegan ingredients. I recently got my hands on The Exotic Lotus Palette which is not only Vegan, but also Cruelty Free, Paraben free and Gluten Free. Oh, and warm toned lovers be warned: You're going to want this in your life!

Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette

Something I have been asked about a whole lot lately is the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette.  I wasn't surprised when I heard Urban Decay was coming out with another palette in their 'Naked' line. With their original creating absolute havoc in the beauty world when it was released, and every palette being subsequently popular, the brand (rightly so) should ride out the wave that has sparked cosmetics lines all over the world to bring back the neutral. I've found some of the palettes in the 'Naked' line a tad hit or miss, so I was a skeptic on whether one marketed towards a smokey look would float my boat. I'm happy to say this boat is floating just fine folks, and this palette has really pleasantly surprised me!

Dragging Out the Summer Glow

We're nearing the end of August, which means for this part of the world that Summer is not going to be around much longer. This time of year I always feel a bit torn. On one hand by this stage of the season I am tired of feeling like I'm in a constant state of sweat and am seriously daydreaming about cosy sweaters and clothing in layers. I'd heard a lot about these from my fave British beauty bloggers, but had yet to see them anywhere on this side of the pond so I jumped at the chance to put one in my shopping basket!

Aerin Gardenia Rattan | The Scent That Might Remind You of Your Grandmother (in the best possible way!)

I recently got the chance to try some bits from the Aerin range and one of the products that stood out the most was the Gardenia Rattan Eau de Parfum Spray*.  The bottle is utterly gorgeous with its gold accents and jade top cap, but that wasn't the first thing I noticed about it. Instead I took an initial sniff and immediately had memories of my grandmother as a kid wearing a scent that had similar notes. So much so I called my mother to mention it. Naturally the first time she smelled it she said, "oh yeah, that's her alright!"

It's probably no surprise that I've been loving me some Charlotte Tilbury lately. The #1 Makeup Artist in the world has outdone herself with the range she has created and the more products I try, the more I love. So needless today say, todays Friday Face is a little Charlotte heavy, with some tried and trues to bring it all together.

The Aveda Institute | My Experience

A couple of weeks back I was invited to head down to the Vancouver Aveda Institute to check out the facilities and enjoy a wash, cut and blow dry. If you've read Girl Loves Gloss for a while you know that I've struggled with my hair in the last couple of years, mainly with the texture changing, it thinning noticeably and weird cowlicks popping up that never were there before. So when I was asked to come in, I almost wanted to say, "Really? You sure you've got the right girl?" but then I reminded myself that not everyone has an amazing head of hair, and that my struggles might touch someone else out there, so I gave it a go.

My Teenage Beauty Wishlist Come True | Hard Candy Nail Polish

If you were a teen or older in the 90's you'll probably remember the original Hardy Candy Nail Polishes. They came in a slew of candy colours, complete with a very 90's appropriate plastic/rubber ring on the neck of the bottle that generally corresponded with the shade.
