BLUSH WORTHY? | Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes

A couple years ago Tarte released their line of Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blushes, and let me tell you, I was instantly intrigued. Blush always seems to be the first thing that disappears on my face, so the 12 hour claim was most certainly something that piqued my interest. I picked one up as soon as they were available in Canada, and folks - it was love at first blush!

Next thing I knew I had hoarded away quite the little collection of these bad boys. The colour range has something for everyone; Bright orangey corals, pinky nudes and deep berries, mixed with matte and shimmer textures. These really do last an amazingly long time on me, a good 8 hours at least, never feeling powdery or patchy. I can't really attest to the 12 hour claim, because rarely would I wear my makeup that long. I'll dust some on in the morning and come dinner time I might just touch up a bit if we're heading out for a bite. Longer staying power than any other high end or drugstore option I've come across, which says alot given the blusher fanatic I am.

The colours I've added to my collection are as follows from the top clockwise working into the center of the image above:

Flush - a deep matte berry red that is scary as heck in the pan and absolutely stunning on the skin. Think that I just did something naughty or went for a jog flush ;-)
Blissful - a gorgeous true coral, not to pink, not to peach. Matte.
Glisten - Think Blissful with gorgeous golden shimmer running through it. Pinker than the infamous Nars Orgasm and gives that some glow minus the glitter sparkle swapped for more of a glow.
Passion- a plummy pink shimmer that looks inconspicuous in the pan, but gorgeous on the cheeks.
Peaceful - a shimmering apricot nude peach. An easy "go with everything" blush.
Dazzled - think Passion minus the shimmer, just a lovely dusty rose plum. Matte.
Exposed - possibly the most talked about blush in the line, just a basic neutral pink nude. Not too pink, not too brown. For the blush weary gals ;-) Matte.

Of course, I've definitely found myself leaning to a few as favourites. Blissful, Flush and Glisten battle each other for top spots in my every day rotation. These blushes just go on so effortlessly, no scrubbing the pan with your brush to get product, no powdery-impossible-to-not-over-apply finish. These go on buttery smooth and foolproof with the matte finishes blending like a dream, and shimmering blushes apply as more of a glow than a sparkle.
In my opinion, they are worth every penny, even though they are a whopping $33 in Canada, and only $25 in the US ( what's with that Tarte???)

Have you tried the Tarte blushes? Which is your favourite? Ever try fall in love with a colour of blush you swore would never work for you?
